So when does Waze intend to fix the app? It is completely unusable on an ipad during commute times, first I don't understand at all how this made it out of QC, and second I don't understand why we are weeks later and no fix. Is this a sign that Google simply intends to shut down Waze?

It was only $966M - just enough to recarpet the office.

Has it ever in Chile? Can you post a screenshot of the main menu?

Yes it's in Chile, the menú are tune on about that request.
I make a post about that in Chilean forum to ask that for the rest of Chilean community. [ img ]

I have had one issue since then, though, although it hasn't recurred. Soon after the reinstall, I was in mid-commute and suddenly the voice guidance toggled to a different set of prompts -- different female voice, without the street names. I didn't touch that in settings, so it seemed weird to me that it just sort of clicked over on its own. Does that ring a bell with anyone?

That's what happens when you lose your network connection. The "full" TTS including street names is downloaded from the servers.

I'm currently on holiday in an area with very poor 3G signal for my network. All journeys start with a male voice and no street names (and a very strange intonation  ). After a couple of miles I get a 3G connection, the voice changes to the normal female UK English voice and I also get an ETA.

Haven't had much time to troubleshoot, but so far after one drive on v3.7.2 it appears streaming audio is halted every time I launch Waze. Specifically, SiriusXM's audio pauses when Waze is launched and resumes upon returning to home screen (if it hasn't timed out yet.)

(EDIT) Just streamed some audio at home with no issues when launching Waze. I'll try it again from the car later to see if it's a repeatable issue having to do with the bluetooth audio.

MikeMcCollister wrote:OK, I have found that Waze has been crashing quite a bit from at least version 3.7. With version 3.7.2 it is still crashing for me. I have been able to reproduce it so here are the steps:

1. Have car (in this case a Ford Fusion) with both Bluetooth and USB iPhone connector.
2. Plug phone into USB connector.
3. At this point Ford Sync expects audio to come from the USB connection but my iPhone 4S is expecting audio to be transferred via Bluetooth.
4. Start navigation.
5. Drive a few miles without any count coming out of the car’s sound system.
6. Configure Ford Sync to have the media input be Bluetooth instead of USB.
7. Within a few seconds Waze crashes.
8. Start Waze up again and it asks if I want to resume the navigation and I respond with a “yes”. At this point it gets a little confusing in that Waze seems to ask again about finding the navigation. When I click on “OK” (or whatever) at this point Waze crashes again.
9. Start Waze again and all seems to be working.

Let me know if you need more details on this.

Regards,

Mike

Why don't you make iPhone send audio through the dock connector? It's much better. You just have to double-click Home, go over to the 'Send To' icon, and select Dock Connector.

Also, I got a "Routing Server Timeout" when I deviated from a route. After that, it just said 'proceed to highlighted route' which is useless.

I had a "Calculating Route, Please Wait" prompt stay on the screen for 13 minutes today.
