Never seen this happen.

Although I've never had a 'popup' other than "Friends Driving" but it doesn't impact the performance of the app.

Happened to me too - started happening once I 'upgraded' to IOS 8. Not good as I was driving somewhere where I didn't know where I was going to! At a red light I disabled auto-lock and then it stayed on. Didn't really need auto-lock anyway so once again all is good :)

This has happened to me a couple of times. What needs to be done is to do a hard reset of your I-Phone and after that everything would be back to normal.

After upgrading to Version 3.8.1 for iOS this seemed to have plague many users and there has not been a solution up to date except for Hard Reset. Also the phone feels hot during this period.

Some have offered a solution to uninstall and re install but the problem persists. Does anyone have a permanent or easier solution other than a Hard Reset - please share.

When I was using IOS 8.1.3 - the screen goes dim when the phone gets too hot. So I have to cool down the phone and do a hard reset and things get back to normal.

Now with the IOS 8.2 - everything is working well so far.

Lets keep our fingers crossed.

I have this bug too...I ended up uninstalling waze and using apple maps...nothing is more annoying than a nav app that doesn't show you a map.

This was driving me nuts with the latest update also, but after looking through the settings, I think I found a solution. I don't remember if this was here before the latest version, but this was unchecked for me.

Go to Settings>General, check the box for "Prevent Auto-Lock"

My screen hasn't dimmed since I enabled this.

I have been experiencing this as well. If I close out the waze app fully by double tapping my IPhone home button, and then reload the app, it stays lit.

Can you prove this? This problem does not happen to everyone, and does not happen all the time. I recently tried reporting a map issue. I exited without sending it and then my screen went dim/dark after 3ish mins. I closed out my app fully and it stopped going dim. I can't not recreate the problem again. I'm still working on it.
