Update regarding old Blackberry versions support

Hi guys,

As some of you may remember, about 2 years ago we announced that we were no longer developing versions for BlackBerry.

We have done our best to keep the old version alive as long as possible, providing our community with support on critical issues for BlackBerry when necessary.

However, our last BlackBerry version (v.2.4) is now over 2 years old, and unfortunately we will no longer be able to provide any support for this version going into the future.

Please note that we do have a ported Android version that is currently available on some BlackBerry 10 devices.

Thanks for your understanding,

Shirli

Its just lazy if you ask me. Blackberry are only in the situation they are in now cos companys like waze not willing to support blackberry. All blackberry need is a little bit of support and no one will give it. If waze is ever in blackberrys situation I do hope no one helps them so they know how hard it will be.

Just a thought but why doesn't waze ask blackberry to do the app for them.

No, Blackberry is in this situation because they didn't jump on the iOS like smartphone train.
They stayed behind in term of functionalities, which is why customer left them, and they stayed behind in term of API, which is why developers left them (developing for Blackberry is an absolute nightmare).

Don't blame the developers for BB inability to evolve.

Hi all,

just to say that since last Friday (Nov 22nd), tiles of map are not loaded anymore on "old blackberry" devices.

it looks it is since this update:
INTL map tiles were successfully updated to: November 22, 2013 15:37 UTC
Map tiles in the International server have been updated with map edits up to : November 22, 2013 15:37 UTC

Infrastructure Team

This entry was posted in International Tile Updates on November 25, 2013.
more information here. I hope it will be corrected soon, as it was last April when it already happened.

kind regards and long life to Waze.

I have a new BlackBerry 9315. The latest version of Waze seems to be 2.0.2.304. It's the only software I can use on roaming networks unless someone updates this stuff.
