Refresh Map Of My Area - Scope??

Can anyone confirm the scope of the "Refresh Map Of My Area" button which is under Settings -> Data Usage on Waze 2.0 iPhone. I would like to clear the whole of my map cache in one go, and I wonder if this does what I want, or just the area close to my current position :?:

On my phone, it wipes the whole cache.
