Did not work for me here. Closed and reopened the app, rebooted iPhone but no luck. Running on iPhone 4S iOS 7.0.4, app set to English with default English voice (but I am in Brazil)sketch wrote:If you'd rather not wait for Waze to make a sound before you can adjust the volume, disable "Change with Buttons" under the "Ringer and Alerts" section in the iOS Sound Settings menu. I found I never actually changed the volume on my ringer (it's always "loud" or "vibrate"), so now I have control over the media (and Waze) volume basically whenever.

The 'screen staying dark' after a popup message is still there, had a couple of these happen yesterday.
Anyway to turn this option off anymore?
SETTINGS>ADVANCED>AUTO LEARN ROUTES TO FREQUENT DESTINATIONS
I don't need Waze asking me if I am going to work or home every day. The option seems to be gone.
EDIT: Never mind, I see that the option has been removed and this is been reported already. It's very annoying.

Using :
iPhone 4 with Wase 3.7.6
Hand free set Parrot MKi9000
When I try to use the new feature voice control by hovering my hand over the iPhone while Waze is connected to my car through bluetooth, Waze is deaf to my commands.
Though it works great when NOT connected to bluetooth.
Here is what I observed :
Waze connection to bluetooth works good when announcing turn by turn indications
When hovering my hand, I get the voice control annouce "how can I help", then blueooth disconnection, reconnection and "beep" for input start and the connection is kept, but waze says it has not heard anything.
Again, since it is perfectly working when not using bluetooth, I guess the car micro input is not sent properly to waze.
Parrot bug or Waze bug ?

There's new ~10px of blank space above the app at all times when being displayed on my appradio 2. The display of waze on my appradio 2 is still shrinking in about 10px on all sides after several seconds of navigation except now it's in addition to the 10px gap above. The net effect is that waze is barely larger than if I just used my phone in landscape rather than displaying on the unit.

I seem to be having an issue with the map. It's, well, I think it needs to be seen.
https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-ViP2 ... G_0096.PNG
To be clear, there really are roads in that empty block. (In fact, for anyone who knows DC, that's where the 395 tunnel dumps out onto New York Ave.) When planning my route, the app clearly knew about the roads there and could route me on them; but, once I was inside that block, the nav instructions stopped and the distance to turn stopped updating. Also, it I zoom out on the map, the roads suddenly appear.
I've tried forcing a data update; and, I've even uninstalled and reinstalled the app; but, the blank area is still blank. Any ideas?

It's possible that your preferred routing is faster on certain days of the week or times of day and not on others. Waze gives me three different variations on my standard route home depending on the time of day and the day of the week, and of course, it gives entirely different routes during peak traffic times when the freeway is not the best way home.eberends wrote:Waze has a hidden feature that remembers my favorite routing, simply by driving this route multiple times. And this works! After three days of ignoring the unlogical route that Waze proposes, it learns my preference and adjusts.
However, after each map-update (I'm on the International maps) it forgets all it has learned. Is this standard operating procedure or is something wrong?
This feature doesn't really make sense if it forgets every week...
Waze can do this even without present traffic data, because it keeps time-and-day speed data.

I'm getting all alerts, including police reports, at 0.5 miles. Came across a few of them yesterday.AlanOfTheBerg wrote:Red light camera alerts are now at 0.5 miles, which is way too far. 0.1 or max 0.2 miles for an RLC. There's no need for any further advance warning.
Police alerts are still at 0.3 miles, which is way too short. Should be 1 mile or maybe .75 miles.
At higher speeds the alert may not pop up until 0.4 miles is displayed. At lower speeds, it shows at 0.5 for a short time. The difference is apparently caused by lag rather than any sort of variable speed mechanism.

Just lock your phone. Waze will continue to provide voice instructions for navigation.paolozago wrote: Problem: no way to turn off display when not needed (eg. 200km. on a highway? It makes the iPhone very hot and drains battery if not plugged into USB or 12v.

Paolo
It won't give you alert notifications out loud, which is a current fault of the app, and which should be fixed. But it'll still work for navigation.

I meant the first. There's no setting I know of that would prevent this, maybe Background App Refresh needs to be turned on if you have it turned off in iOS 7.paolozago wrote: What do you mean for "lock"? Press the lock button at the top or the home button and leave the iPhone auto-locks?
I use the first and Waze remains silent until I resume it.
Any particular setting needed?
Bye
Paolo
Alternatively, in the General settings, there's a setting called "Prevent Auto-Lock". Turning that off should allow the screen to go dim after your auto-lock time.
