The URs are getting a little hard to communicate in, so I'm starting this thread.

Some notes:

1. Lanui Cir has been updated - removing the part of the loop that goes between Keolani Pl to the front of the terminal. This is closed permanently, per the press release. Please do not recreate it, despite the GPS traces still showing for that area.

2. This segment: https://www.waze.com/editor/?env=usa&lo ... st=5417770 will likely connect at "A" here: https://www.waze.com/editor/?env=usa&lo ... st=5417770 once construction is fully complete.

This wasn't already done, as it means demolition of the segment removed in (1) which couldn't occur until the alternate route was open.

3. At the moment, the detour is *ugly* - you need to go through here: https://www.waze.com/editor/?env=usa&lo ... st=5417770 to get back around in front of the airport. Of course, once (2) is done, that will change.

Also: I've locked the relevant roads to Rank 4. Some were only Rank 2, which given the flux and challenges in place, doesn't seem sufficient with this sort of important road.

One more thing: for those folks not on Maui, there is currently construction of a shared rental car structure between these two segments: https://www.waze.com/editor/?env=usa&lo ... ,503721139

The intent of this is to eliminate the shuttles run by the companies to their nearby and not-so-nearby lots by putting a tram between the terminal and this structure in place. I believe this is scheduled for opening in 2018, but knowing construction on Maui, this actually means ~2028.

Sure thing. It may be worth just dropping a new one in the middle of the new circle road... I'm not convinced that the UR we've been chatting on actually relates to the airport construction changes.

I don't recall seeing it in the video (I thought that part was cut out)... But regardless, that GPS layer can be questionable.

Sometimes it will take forever to show new traces, and other times roads that I know don't exist show traces for months afterwards.

Not in HI right now... just happened to see the news article.

What do you make of the GPS points from A to B between these two segments? They were the only reason I added that segment back in. In the video, that road is clearly blocked. I'd think that old points would have dropped off the map by now.

Thanks for tracking these changes and realignments in/around OGG. I've added a tag to the UR in the hopes this may save it from deletion and direct anyone here.
