Thpast holidays became an opportunity for Wazers to get out on the road and post Update Requests (URs) and Place Update requests (PUs) in and around the metro. The entire Metro Manila is now peppered with new URs and PUs.

The bright side is that this is a chance to round up editors from every level and location to help in reducing or resolving these URs and PUs by holding a MapRaid on NCR. It is from these MapRaid sessions that we get the chance to work with new editors and they get the chance to work with the local champs and find out how to do things on the Waze Map Editor (WME). It is also from these MapRaids where we can find out if some editors are ready to reach the next level and possibly be granted an area to manage.

We are going to divide NCR and nearby areas into different areas and assign them with a squad or squads of editors headed by a lieutenant or a senior editor (AM or local champ). Each member of the squad would then be assigned to do either one or more of the following; a.) resolve URs, b.) address PUs, c.) connect disconnected segments, d.) name unnamed segments (segments in red) and e.) map unmapped roads

This will take place for two weeks on February from the 1st to the 14th. All volunteers will be given editing access to NCR for the entire duration of the MapRaid.We will create a chat group on FB or Telegram so that request for unlocks and questions can quickly be addressed. Results from the MapRaid will be posted as soon as we receive them from Waze HQ.
