Waze editor editing restrictions

Post by MMDA_Official
Hi!

I'm from the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, a government agency in the Philippines. One of our mandates is transport and traffic management which includes the formulation, coordination and monitoring of policies, standards, programs and projects to rationalize the existing transport operations, infrastructure requirements, the use of thoroughfares, and promotions of safe and convenient movement of persons and goods.

Since September of last year, we have been using Waze to monitor traffic and the map editor to input traffic data (such as scheduled road closures, road accidents and other road incidents).

However, we noticed recently that our editing "powers" have changed. We are no longer allowed to input reports since we're only a level 1 editor.

Is there a way for our agency to be able to input data on all major thoroughfares concerning Metro Manila?

Thank you so much in advance!

Naman, kabayan, sa US forums ka pa talaga nag-post. Nung May pa namin kayo kinocontact. Iniiwasan niyo ba kami?

You were sent a private message through this channel by kazmuth. I had to resort to Facebook messenger to try to contact you because you ignored kazmuth's message. Your Facebook admin acknowledged and even communicated with your team but you continued to ignore us. We also wanted to invite you to our national meetup but how does one invite someone who is determined to ignore all efforts? Like kazmuth said, you need to learn how to use your editing PRIVILEGES properly, otherwise you're the only one benefiting from the CCP while you mess up the map for Wazers and we are left to deal with the reports of our countrymen. If you really want to learn you should get in touch with the local community - us. If you need to see the conversation with your FB admins we can post screenshots.

Moving from the USA/Connecticut forum to Philippines forum.

You should look into the Connected Citizens Program for Governments (it's free) - https://www.waze.com/ccp

We had your editing rights suspended because you were ignoring our messages. We reached out to you several times because you were adding closures left and right without even knowing the difference between a partial and total closure and the effect they had on Waze routing. You were even deleting closures we had in place.

Being part of CCP does not mean your rights trump ours, we've been doing this for years so we know what to do and we know what we are doing.

If you are really serious about getting your editing rights back and LEARNING how to do things on WME, let us know, we will gladly teach you.

We submitted an application to CCP for Gov, a month ago, and, again, last Monday, we haven't received any confirmation. Would you have an idea on the turn around time for this? :)

Thank you, AndyPoms! your kind assistance is much appreciated! :)

wari ko ba ay kapag Pilipino ang tumutugon at humihingi ng karampot na pansin ay wala atang gana ang mga kinauukulan makipanayam at masninanais nila na mga puti ang kausap.

Don't worry, the local Pinoy waze community is quite friendly. given a chance to correspond with you. we don't BITE.
