Mapping Political Subdivisions

Post by albertcong
What's the protocol on mapping political subdivisions in a particular place? Take for example this one in Bislig:

I am tempted to remove this place created by M-a-r-s but I don't want to be charged with impropriety and disrespect and so as not to offend its creator, which I have no intention of, whatsoever, so I am asking the group if this is proper. Do we need to map a barangay (political subdivision) using Place (area) and categorizing it as Other?

We don't have a policy for this yet but from what was discussed so far, we will only add 'area places' as navigation aids or cues on sparsely populated areas. For baranggays, add a 'point place' on the baranggay hall so that they can be searchable if we know the exact location. We should not add provinces.

So in general, only small areas should be added since their main purpose is to provide additional visual orientation cues on the user's client display.

Refer to this wiki for more details https://wiki.waze.com/wiki/Places
