Waze in South Korea!

Post by MapSir
Hi Everyone!

We are working on growing Waze in South Korea and we would love your help to make this a success, especially as we approach the Winter Olympics in 2018 which will bring many visitors to the country!

What are we doing to get more Wazers and how you can join:
1) Korean TTS - LAUNCHED
We are very excited to announce that we have launched Korean TTS in South Korea!
If you know people that live in Korea please tell them they can now drive with Waze in their language!
2) Korean UI Language - UPDATED
With the help of our amazing Korean community we have revamped the Korean UI language. Now the app is 100% translated in Korean, so again - tell your friends!
3) Celebrity Voice Prompts - LOOKING FOR THE FIRST ONE
We are looking for fun celebrity voices to add as navigation voices to the Waze app. If you have anyone in mind please let us know so we can contact them!
4) Partnerships - LOOKING FOR THE FIRST ONE
We have many partnership opportunities, and partnerships are a great way to spread the word about Waze! We're looking for large scale event organizers to join the Global Event Partnership program, Connected Citizens partners and Broadcast partners. If you know any organizations that would fit into one of our partnership programs please let us know!

Hello

I have been using WAZE for about six months, but I feel very grateful with upgraded features.
Some of the comments, recently updated TTS is an essential function to be sure, but voice prompt order is not correct and the Korean and English road name are pronounced each, I think it needs a quick update.
And what about new voice prompts to see famous radio DJs? It is a familiar voice while driving. I recommend DJ Bae Chul-soo, Jung Yoo-mi, who is often heard on my way home.

There is a lot of work needed to be done for South Korea. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be much support for the community of Waze users here. I have started using the map editor, but I'm limited to places that Waze has tracked me driving. Unfortunately, waze failed to credit me for a recent 500km journey this past weekend. Additionally, I want to add places to the map so I can use Waze to navigate me there. But since the places do not exist in Waze, the functionality is limited. I'd like to help add these places and improve the map, but unfortunately it is mostly locked down, and since I'm not getting credit for drives, not much I can do.

--> What about TBS eFM which is the public radio channel for foreigners living in Korea. Hope big synergy with Waze.

Hello

Unfortunately, this case often happens to me. In my experience, it seems to occur WiFi communication and mobile communication are connected together. Please try to use waze using mobile communication only. For further information, please use the following waze help.

I'm actually planning to visit South Korea next year and was hoping to use Waze while there. It's already so helpful to me back home. I found an article on GoWithGuide about South Korea tourism stats https://gowithguide.com/blog/south-kore ... -know-5254 that makes me even more excited - it looks like such a fascinating city with so much to see and do. I'm glad to hear Waze is adding more Korean features like TTS and UI translation. Being able to navigate smoothly in Korean will be great as an English speaker visiting. Keep up the good work expanding in South Korea! I'll be sure to download Waze before my trip.
