I would certainly say it is a busy enough route (not quite an 8 lane bursting arterial), but it is one of the entrances to UBC to the west, and sees a lot of people going to the beaches to the northwest in the summer.

Perhaps an afternoon peak hour would be good? Or even a weekend afternoon!

Cheers.

Krazy editing in Greater Vancouver and more!

Post by Krazywrath
That seems like a very thorough method codgerd (especially tracking it over time).
Should be able to see the difference between one-side-delete and the wiki-approved joining method.

I say go for it if you have the time! Don't burn yourself out :)

Krazy editing in Greater Vancouver and more!

I'd be interested in helping out, though my allowed area only extends as far as the Port Mann for the moment. I'm still learning the ins and outs, but I have been reading up on the minutiae of undividing roads (which is what brought me here) This all came about after my recent trip along Hwy 3 and the massive realignment in progress outside Princeton. My interpretation of the guidelines says Hwy 3 shouldn't be divided through Manning Park (though I have no way of editing there due to the lack of cellular coverage)

I am already Rank 2 (fixed over a hundred roads around Nelson/Castlegar that were unknown direction and all turns restricted)

I have noticed that Waze will tolerate short dead zones (i.e. Merritt to Logan Lake) but seems to give up if it looses connection for more than 30 minutes or so. Was contemplating an attempt to use the Shaw Go Wifi hotspots at Sunshine Valley and Manning Park on my next trip through. Still waiting on a bunch of new cell towers that Telus has applied to build along Hwy 3

Is this the project which you were describing? https://news.gov.bc.ca/stories/construc ... provements
That's the one. It's considerably more ambitious than the project they've just recently completed. Here's a general map.

I've applied to be the AM for Hwy 3 from the Coq interchange to the mine outside Princeton. I suspect that there's less risk of loosing traffic data given that there's no GPS points through Manning Park, nor are there any readily apparent house numbers. Good place to practise for the Lower Mainland.
