Client closures are difficult to understand; they are usually isolated to the user's client and only propagated depending on the number of closure reports and the user's rank/karma.

Client closures are allegedly lifted as soon as the first vehicles goes through the closed segment.The WME & Google Sheet closures lift when there is more than 50% of normal traffic going through the closed segment. According to the U.S. Champs this script is run every 15 minutes. So lets say on average 10 drivers go through the closed segment. If 6 drivers go through it, the closure will get lifted but it gets checked every 15 minutes so there's a possibility it will re-close due to inactivity.

The Beta WME provides us a little more details as to who created/updated the closure; according to ohad this should be getting pushed to the production WME in the next week.





If the road is really closed, you can submit details in the closure form. We can easily remove the wazer-reported closure and add a hard one.

Can we please remove the following?

• For daily/nightly closures, add entry for each day

It is enough to simply write that it's a daily/nightly/weekend closure in the form's comment section. There is no need to add a new entry for each day.

Should be filed under "Form Responses" the moment you submit it. If the last three columns are empty (Approved/Entered on Upload Sheet/Reviewed By), it's still pending processing by a champ.

Should the form submission be accompanied with a post to the Unlock or other newsgroup? If not, will the list of closures be visible somewhere?

I also think that something needs to be on the map to indicate any road closure. Having to flip to the live map or the closure sheet just adds more mystery to the process of diagnosing a UR.

Perhaps having a closure layer in WME showing closed roads and editor reports would be a better long term solution to map clutter but probably installing URO+ is the here and now solution.

Can anyone see a problem with #821 in the October closure sheet? I submitted it and #822 based on nearby URs. The latter took effect but #821 didn't. #821 is intended to be a southbound only closure so I added the junction node IDs to the request.

The DVP in Toronto was submitted for closure this weekend and as far as I can tell it's been closed. I've seen about 5 URs now about being directed there during the closure. I suggested to restart app and clear the cache and the ones that replied said it worked. This one in the permalink though says it was closed for him last night but not this morning. Restarting fixed the problem.

Just wondering if people have been experiencing problems like this with closures.

I confirmed with the user that they have the latest version. They also reported to me that they saw barricades on Saturday night (which is good) but didn't see them on Sunday morning. Their routing was aware of the closure on Saturday but then lost it on Sunday.
