Postby lizardborys » Sun Dec 23, 2012 8:20 pm

Hi
I realy suprice that app Verry positive :)
I know Nokia drop off symbian but plenty of persons like me are very happy with last symbian belle (my N8, E6 and waiting for delivery 808).
Is not to many navigations for last symbian apart Nokia Maps.
I install Waze beacouse I not realy happy with graphics of Nokia Maps and I was shock. Great job Waze.
I use last one 2.1x beta and my question is
-what with new relase for symbian?
Is great have oposite apps (I stell use Sygic, Aura and NDrive but all off them without official support) and I thing Waze can be easy primary of them.
Please try relase new ver 3 as well for symbian belle.
I can say as well ver 2 is working without any problems on deferent screens - E6-00 versus N8.
best regard

Waze announced last year they are developing for Android and iOS only. Symbian will not receive any official new updates. Please search before posting.

I was read that
but...
It is something wrong
Symbian users working as well on updating map and is little discrimination
Few milions symbian users are on the market saw where is the reason?

If you read that, and read the original post, then you would see their reasoning. (You may or may not agree with their reasoning, but there it is.)

There is no economic reason to continue development for Symbian, a dying operating system. You are still getting map updates, traffic info, reports, etc., just no new features.

In the 3rd quarter of 2012 72.4% of all smartphones ran on Andriod, iOS was in a distant second with 13.9%. Symbian was a very distant 5th with 2.6% behind RIM (5.3%) and Bada (3.0%). Windows phones only had 2.4% of the market at the time. Waze is concentrating on the Operating Systems that will reach the most users.

That being said, when a recent server change impacted Blackberry (RIM) users (another OS which is no longer being supported) Waze did listen & made a fix to keep the legacy system work for them.

Symbian market share is plummeting. Between Q3 2011 and Q3 2012 they dropped from 14.6 % to 2.3 % (new shipped phones)*. Nokias are solid and robust phones, but even those are normally replaced every few years, so the user base will be close to 0 in a few years.
