A small, but quite annoying one that has survived a long time:

1. Enter the Commute-O-Meter.
2. Press Home (Not Back).
3. Press Waze shortcut on home screen.

Result: Commute-O-Meter.
Expected result: The app =)

This is a bit annoying when trying to start Waze while driving.

I've seen too many weird behaviors with routing and stop points and out of gps coverage and the automatic "drive home/work" stuff, and recently even worse with the waze:// api, but those have been around for some time.

Now this one I also think it's new, as I'm getting also getting it since I installed the beta. Same situation: drive work, stop point at kindergarden, when I get to the stop point I hear the "you have reached yada yada". I just turn the screen off, don't even turn waze off with the home button (sorry it's an iPhone, but I guess this is shared code).

Then when I get back into the car, waze keeps trying to route me back to the stop point. I have to manually reset the drive to work to stop the madness.

I always allow automatic navigation to work and listen to voice prompts. When I'm also dropping off my kids at day-care, I just add a stop. I did that this morning. I also happened to have another stop this morning (before daycare) but I wasn't navigating to it. I turned Waze off at the first stop. I forgot to turn it back on when I got back in my car. After reaching my intermediate stop and dropping my kids off at daycare, I turned Waze back on. It automatically resumed navigation (both the stop at daycare and my final work destination). When I pulled out of the drive, instead of saying that I've reached my intermediate stop, it said "you have reached your destination at..." and quit all navigation. I was miles away from my normal work destination.

The procedure this morning was:
- Waze automatically started navigating to my Work address
- Add an intermediate stop from favorites list
- Shut Waze down
- Start Waze back up adjacent to intermediate stop point
- Waze says I've reached my final destination and ends navigation prompts

I won't drop off my kids at daycare again until Monday, but I'll try to remember to duplicate the error then. I may try to duplicate it sooner with a different intermediate stop point.

Yesterday I did an intermediate stop navigation and it worked well for me. What I did was:

  • Set Navigation for home
  • Added stop point for my kids school
  • Exited Waze when I got to kids school
  • Got back in the car and started Waze again
  • Waze resumed navigation to my home

Odd that it completely exited navigation.. I've had a few times, based on if I quit the app too early, it want to navigate me back to my stop-point since it never realized I got there.. but that's mostly user error.. :)

I'd like to report poor experience with near you now. The box is too small. Was much better.
I just found that instead of providing # of friends, wazers and jams (or events?) It reported friends only. (if that was near you now - NYN)

Note - this was at mock location, as I'm outside the polygon for NYN
if it looks strange, it's my phone's fault

Navigation error, don't know if it's Beta related or not.

This is very annoying. Pop-up should close immediately when we thank !

What if we want to add a comment? Finding the pop-up again might be impossible, when there are plenty of reports.

When I thank, I'm driving... No comment possible while driving !
And it is not a chat... Just a report ![quote]

2) If a client is capable displaying at least a bit of the map below the pop-up (i.e. the screen is large enough), the panned map with report pin should not be placed "just below" (actually, usually under) the pop-up, but centered in the non-obscured map area. (This is possibly not necessary on large tablet displays, if the opened pop-up does not obscure an already displayed pin.)

khaytsus wrote:So your opinion is you don't want to see the specific area of the report, only the report itself? Or just the zooming part?

The zooming part I mentioned seemed like a weird after-affect, like something that was needed when showing another report but wasn't removed when the showing of other reports was removed.

I still would like to see the client show the area of the report. I drive a road that's a loop a lot, and just saying there's an accident 1 mile away doesn't tell me if it's in front of me or behind me, and since it's a dual carriage road I won't get an alert if it's on my route. However, traffic always slows to a crawl at the site of an accident, no matter how far separated it is from the other lanes. ;)

I'm hoping it's a bug.. It's been gone the last two betas.

When you are in a location where there are plenty of reports, automatic zoom in do the following :
1) It change the zoom level
2) It center your screen where the report is
In this case, because there are plenty of reports, you don't know where they are exactly.
And the result (because there is still a bug that Waze is unable to find), zoom is sometime not restored.
The other problem is when Waze starts its "report dance" (I call it when there are plenty of reports, and Waze do not take care of the radius) and you need to quit Waze, zoom level is not restored the next time you use Waze !

So my opinion is :
1 - Waze staff is able to debug correctly the zoom problem and makes it working correctly
and highlight the location of the report on the map
or
2 - Waze staff let the actual functionnality, without zooming.
