Well... there is a reason two taps on Stop are needed. 1st: to stop navigation so that you don't get constant reroutes and other noise when close to destination and you might be snaking through a parking lot, etc. Once you arrive at your location, though, you still may want to drop the parking pin and/or notify friends, etc. It's convenient for that bar to remain in place. That is, at least, what I believe is the reasoning here. I'm not sure I 100% agree with it, but I understand it.

seriousarsonist wrote:Now a personal one, the send button for petrol prices, would it not be better placed bottom center of the window after the prices have been changed, as in the same position as 'are these prices correct yes/no'. and while on the petrol price thing, the next button is stupidly hard to tap in a moving car even if you are a passenger, it's just way to small and probably not needed anyway as you can tap the fuel type.

You can tap the fuel type, but as soon as you start typing, the usual "passenger/OK" box will come up. If you've dismissed this message in the past during the current driving session, the passenger/OK box won't appear here. But it will appear anywhere, anytime you try to type while moving, regardless of whether it's a map issue post, hazard, or fuel price. It's a standard feature of the app.

When you are inputting the prices after dismissing the 'passenger' box, the next button on top of the keypad is tiny and impossible to tap in a moving car even if you are a passenger.

Hmmm.... Maybe I'm not familiar with that small button. What happens to me, that I recall is: 1. I tap "No", 2. Tap "passenger", 3. Tap "No" and the cursor moves to the first fuel type to update.

I admit it has been a while since I have had to do this, so in the beta, maybe the procedure has changed?

Oh, the "Not Offered" button. I've had no trouble tapping that before

That will not remove the not offered price, which is what I assume needs to be done. I've used it several times.

Privacy bug: Private Messages, in the inbox, show the Waze username of the sender. However, when you open the message, their facebook profile and full name and current city appear for users with whom we are not facebook friends. This is a serious privacy flaw.

Permalinks of cameras locations?

Screenshots from this morning below. Both of these sets of cameras alert just fine in nav mode and triggered in Nav mode yesterday and/or the day before.

Debug logs uploaded 2013-01-11 2:57PM GMT. Permalinks are the camera location description above the screenshots.

BUG: After setting a stop point, Waze does not return to previous view settings or mode.

What I did: Was in nav mode, following and on the actual suggested route, autozoom by distance, follow me-on-map view. Selected a fast food location from the add-a-stop category search.

What I expected to happen: map view and mode return to view prior to initiating the add-a-stop.

What actually happened: map view remained in the full-route-overview mode, not in follow mode, and the app did not know I was already on the route and gave me the "proceed to route" message.

Screentshot:

After I tapped the "follow me-on-map" button, the view returned to the expected view, and after several seconds, the next turn information updated properly.

From previous beta thread:

kiwize wrote:In landscape mode on an iPhone 4S, the menu is not fully displayed and some icons are incomplete

That is by design to keep the size of the menu the same regardless of device and orientation. Many users do not like it.
I am locking this thread as the next beta has been released.

The thing is when navigating Landscape is 2x4=8 and Portrait mode is 3x3=9, so why is it 3x2=6 for both when not navigating. It just doesn't make sense to me.

I got confused with all the numbers, but what he means, and is right, is that albeit it was mentioned that the "dialogue doesn't grow to keep the same size", but when when navigation is on, the dialogue does indeed grow, which is a conflict.

You're right. It does this in portrait too. I still think it's by design, but I'm not sure of the reason now. At the very least, it should be sized to fit the full icons and not cut them off.

I think the reasoning for showing part of an icon is the give you a visual clue there are more if you scroll across, my query relates to why that window size changes depending on what you are doing.
