I use English (UK) (Kate).
Usually Reading is pronounced correctly, when it is alone.
My guess is that the problem was because together with other location, like "The West, Reading".

Well, The North and The South are different countries so The West could quite easily be a city.

Yes, Kate reads it as (reading/ˈriːdɪŋ/). Using Thomas is OK, he reads it as (Reading/ˈrɛdɪŋ/).
I have a feeling that someone has already raised this issue but I'll double check it. Please use Thomas for the time being if you always pass by there.

yeap, that's why they put 'Reading' . Well, I believe this issue can be closed and leave it to HQ.
