L3 fix - Boothferry Road, Hull

Post by Jezbod
I think this junction is drawn too simply for the current turn restriction.
At the moment, when travelling NE on Boothferry Road and following the road signs, you can turn right into Heads Lane but not U-turn, however, the junction as it is in Waze does allow this turn.
Would adding a turning lane that connects to part way down Heads Lane cure it?

Specific turn lanes for each turn would work. I've never drawn one myself, but I believe a "bow tie" might be a more elegant solution. You might want PM one of the local Area Managers first though.

I also notice there's no permitted turning into Hillcrest Ave (2 roads east) which seems wrong since it's a cul-de-sac. ;)

I think this segment:

needs removing and all the remaining ends of the segments connecting together, as it should for a "bow-tie" junction.
I think the slight bend in the through roads has been introduced to shorten the middle segment so that it is less than 15m, and that this will stop the U-turn. See this Wiki page.

I'm sure you're right. I've enabled the turns for Hillcrest Ave.

It looks like someone with level 1 or 2 plotted the side roads and could not connect them to the level 3 main road!
