Lv5 - A501 (E) - Euston Rd  Topic is solved

Postby Challenger3802 » Sun May 11, 2014 7:38 pm

Hi,

This segment of the Euston Rd needs to have the left turn into Euston Bus Station restricted to buses only. Likewise the junction of this segment, needs the roads around node A being prevented from allowing anything but buses to turn into it; From Eversholt St and Grafton Pl respectively.

Regards,
Ian

Hi John,

I gleamed the information for the turn from the Euston Road from Google Street View, and when I passed through this area a couple of weeks back. There were a couple of URs in this location and so I assumed (rightly or wrongly) that the waze routing was incorrect. Looking on the WME I saw that the Euston Rd was level 3 and not having that asked for assitance. Working out one end made me think about the other end and I thought to include the Evershot St junction, for someone with level 3 authorisation to check it out (as I'm not level 3 I knew it wouldn't let me make any changes).

Oh well, I live and learn.

Hi Ian

Where are you getting this information from? All I can see in the UR is your response to some information you've obviously had from the reporter!

The Bus Station is set to a Private Road, so nobody should get an instruction to turn into it unless Google returns a set of GPS coordinates for which it's the closest. I'll set the whole bus station to be restricted to buses only (you could have done that! It's not locked!) and it should be possible to leave the turns unrestricted, including the turns at the junction with Eversholt St - we'll see!

OK! I thought you'd had a message from the reporter that I couldn't see! As the bus station roads weren't locked, you could have put a permanent timed restriction on them (as I did) without needing to ask for down-locking.

Please don't think I'm trying to put you down - definitely not, and if it came across like that, apologies! There IS a huge amount to learn, and my poor brain forgets a lot of it regularly :(
There have been a few changes there recently due to roadworks on Eversholt St that caused closure of the bus station for about a week, and there were quite a few turn bans put in place. But that was about two weeks ago, so the reports probably had nothing to do with that.

Keep up the good work!
