New GIS Script for Wisconsin!

Postby tango259 » Sun Jun 04, 2017 7:40 pm

Big news for the Wisconsin editing community! Thanks to the help and support of MapOMatic, and after doing some testing to make sure everything works, I am proud to announce that Wisconsin now has a new script that links with the statewide parcel map! Previously accessible from here,, the statewide parcel map is a digital collaboration of city and county parcel maps throughout Wisconsin combined into a single accessible source. This script is based on the original script used for the West Virginia MapRaid, which linked to West Virginia’s GIS map. A button, labeled “WI-GIS” will be placed on the bottom left of the map editor screen, just to the right of Lat/Lon coordinates. By clicking the button, a new tab will open which will load the WI GIS map and automatically zoom-in to show the same window as the map editor. Editors can then pan around in WME, and the GIS map will follow.

For those of you who use Chrome, I would suggest getting an extension called AdBlock. The WI-GIS webpage always starts up with a disclaimer, a help panel, and a search query panel. These panels are useless for us (the search query isn’t the “true” search box), so it’s fine if we hide them. By using AdBlock, you can mark those panels to be hidden so when you load the GIS map through the script, it will load straight to the view you want. Over the testing period, I have found this script to be EXTREMELY helpful. The next time you run across MoM, please be sure to thank him for his hard work.

The script can be found here:
