Voice Commands reference

Postby AlanOfTheBerg » Sat Jul 14, 2012 7:45 pm

The Wiki does have a list of voice commands, but it's not complete nor does it give any tips or list the problems. I compiled this list from usage. There may be many commands I haven't found yet.

Voice Commands not working

Postby Heyjaypay » Tue Jun 13, 2017 3:03 pm

I have noticed recently that the voice commands aren't working, especially when trying to report a hazard on the road. Reporting traffic, police, etc. Works most of the time but whenever I try to report a hazard, It keeps saying "try again", "I didn't hear you" and finally "canceled". I know it's not myself who's too quiet, as I'm almost shouting trying to get it to hear me :x . I have a feeling it has something to do with spotify and my music, but turning down/pausing my music doesn't help either. It would be nice if waze could not only fix this issue but also add a feature to pause spotify when you wave or tap the screen with three fingers to make voice commands easier to hear  . Anyone else having this issue? If so, any temporary fixes?

Voice Command for Police on Other Side of Road?

Postby djg_21 » Thu Apr 27, 2017 1:53 pm

Is there a voice command that can be used to report police on the other side of a highway? I know I can report manually by tapping buttons, but I prefer to use voice commands while driving.

Screen blanking and hands free?

Postby TheHYPO » Tue Dec 13, 2016 5:26 pm

Can anyone tell me 1. How to get that hands-free voice-command dialogue to come up? I seem to randomly cause it to happen, but I'm not sure how to intentionally do it.

Also, if I glance my hand in front of the front camera, it seems to blank the screen in waze. This is particularly irritating given where my phone sits when I drive. Any way to turn this off? Why is this even a feature?

Thanks!

"Car stopped on road" works in the current iOS beta correctly. Unsure about Android. I will update the ASR tree once the app is released.

Despite "car stopped on road" being a valid ASR command, it does not work. For me.

Re: Voice Commands reference (US?)

I cannot get the iPhone app over bluetooth to understand either "standstill" or "hazard". I have successfully recorded standstill traffic twice, and hazard once. This is sooooooo frustrating. Also "moderate" MUST be pronounced "mah-der-ATE" instead of MAH-der-eht which is annoying as the first is usually the pronunciation of the verb and the second the adjective.

Any suggestions on how to pronounced standstill and hazard so that the app understands????
