According to feedback from other fellow Portuguese localizers, we prefer the option 2.

Translations Dexter Migration

Postby Nickyaug » Tue Apr 20, 2021 3:24 pm

Hi all,

Hope everyone is doing well.

As you know, we’ve faced a few issues while migrating the WME translation strings to Dexter.
We tried our best to find a solution, but unfortunately after several tests we were unable to reach an adequate solution.

Our preferred solution is copy/pasting your translations to the strings and not using TM, but it will appear as if someone else translated it (it will always be someone internal from Waze, the same person responsible for copy/pasting the strings).

When we copy/paste these translations we will be able to either mark them all as reviewed or as not reviewed - This is up to you to decide.

We have 2 options:

1) Auto review all the relevant strings by Waze
We will auto review all the strings in the migration, it means that even strings that were never reviewed in the past will be marked as reviewed.

2) Manually review all the strings by the community
The community will need to go over all of the WME strings and review them . In the migration all strings will be added as not reviewed, including strings that were already reviewed in the past.

My question is, which option do you think is better for the Localization community, solution number 1 or 2?

Please take into consideration that we are in the process of migrating all of the translations to Dexter, so the flow that we decide on now will impact all future migrations.

Thanks for your cooperation.
