Welcome to the newly-opened Localization forum!

With the rapid growth of Waze worldwide, expansion into new countries and the creation of more and more local communities, we are committed to give drivers the best access to our product.
In a word, "Localization!" :)

It is our priority to make sure Waze is available for users in their native languages. This includes text and voice features, as well as adapting these features across various countries, implementing pronunciation rules and enabling specific matches when needed.

In this forum, we can consult on these issues, place requests, share ideas, offer advice. Furthermore, we hope this will create a space to share information on how to maximize Localization efforts in existing communities as well as to help new communities.

As of today, we support 28 languages and more (i.e. Turkish, Serbian, Thai) are on the way -- thanks to your hard work!

I'm looking forward to growing into new regions with your help. Lets keep up the great work!

Cheers,
Orit

Hi Orit

Oh i've been waiting for that. So thanks for opening this part here Orit. I think its better to discuss several things in here instead of mailing hundreds of screenshots as in the past.

And orit may i suggest to not add any more translaters to transifex for german, or at least stop with 5. And they should have at least posts in the forum and experience with more than one client.
Cause there are still a lot of differences between iOS and Android which a new user can not know.

Thanks
Argus

Or people from other countries changing strings like I've had in the UK. They're removed now thankfully.

Now I can officially say HI ORIT! :-)

Hi Localizers,

Thanks for the warm words : )

Indeed this forum was long over due and I'm very excited we're communicating in this space!

With the help of our Localization experts we will issue guidelines for Localization in general and specifically, translation.

I believe we can resolve many issues that concern us all and work to improve translations in our different languages.

Best,
Orit

Sounds like a good plan!
There could be a sub-forum for each languages ;)
