This may be caused by the TTS engine or Waze and TTS charset mismatch.

I like to test on Nuance before publishing the TTS file.

@orit_y
do you have available file for each TTS language, so we could manage specific problems for each country/language ?

It should be interesting to know what is already setted in Nuance File, or they are not available and we can work on TTS extentions only ?

In Italy we have some problem with accented letters (à è ì ò ù).
This may be caused by the TTS engine or Waze and TTS charset mismatch.
For example: "Via Corfù" is read as "Via corfa";

There is read correctly, so I think there's a problem with text transfer between Waze and TTS engine.

I know in french, some words have bad pronunciation.

Grab the tts file from your device, fix it and send it to translation@waze.com?

Orit, it would be nice to also get the lang.*_tts file on transifex please

Not that easy with a unjailbroken iPhone ;)

Sure it is. I use iExplorer on my Mac and have access to the file system and have done the full translation (strings and tts) manually on my device before uploading to transifex and sending the final TTS file to Orit.

It's true that I'm using an old version 2.x which was free and just nagware at the time, maybe the new 3.x doesn't work anymore unless it's bought. But I'm sure there are other apps for that. No jailbreak at all, if I wasn't clear.

No Problem, the TTS files will be upload next week.

Always at your service :)
Orit

Quite the opposite, we are the ones at your service, but can only help if the files are on the system ;)

PS: while at it, why did the scoreboard files disappear from transifex? I've noticed the website and client scoreboard were finally updated with the latest strings, but now there are some strings that need further fixing...

We have plenty of different accents in Portuguese streets and all are read correctly with Raquel, Samantha and Tom. Waze should have a quick look at the encoding with your language pack, because a double encoding of Corfù indeed becomes "Corfù", which could explain your problem.

New Waze addict here so this is probably a complete noob question.
I travel to work everyday on Nuckols road which is pronounced locally as "Knuckles" road. Waze pronounces it as New Coles road. While I have only done a bit of searching on this forum, I cannot seem to find information on how to submit TTS pronunciation changes.
