Hi Orit
I'm already a translator on Facebook for Spanish (México). However when trying to submit a translation for the Waze strings I'm always getting the same error "Translate submission failed."
I'm guessing that there might be a setting on your side for which languages you want submitted. I'm willing to change the language for which I'm translating, but since this change can only be done once every 30 days I would like to confirm. Do I have to change to the Spanish option with no country specified?

{destination.distance|sum1} Kilometers

and that we should translate this to our language. There is no use to put miles, IMO.

I also wonder if the distance calculated based on Miles or Kilometers?

Since what we are doing in FB is translating the text and not any formulas what I would advocate is to translate the word "miles" to your own language.
For example for spanish I would end up with {destination.distance|sum1} millas.

Anyone would be able to explain me a little better the requested work? Each country requires independent translation? "Español (Colombia)" for example? we should translate what appears among {text}? Can be changed the order of the phrase? There is constraint by lenght of the string? We would be able to help us with the already done translations by companions of other countries of the region? I would like to have at least some examples.

Thanks

Regarding :
{destination.distance|sum1} miles

Do we just have to replace miles by kilometers ? Or the value is in miles ?

I think my translations are not saved

Agreed but since we use kilometer, it would be confusing.

petervdveen wrote:Because we use kilometers we should translate miles correctly.
If miles are calculated, people should not think it are kilometers.

I agree also, We should translate miles, kilometers, etc, but in the client they should match to those countries roads. If roads are in kilometers, then the clients should use the kilometers, if they in miles then the client should the miles.

Hi Localizers,

We're opening another existing project and we need your help!

We're working on adding translation in multiple languages to our facebook automated messages.
This is a Facebook collaborative translation tool, so you can start a translation, vote for an existing one and suggest alternative translations.
All you need to do is click on this link: https://www.facebook.com/?sk=translatio ... 3050668156 and start translating into your language.

Please make sure to choose the right language to translate, as it will not be possible to change it later (unless you wait for several days)

So, think we can do it? I sure do!!!!

Best,
Orit
