Points of Interest Feature

Does Waze have a " Points of Interest " feature like my Garmin ?
Points of interest is a search feature where if you do NOT have an exact address OR PARTIAL address
of your destination, you could, instead, enter the name of a business or landmark name and the app would navigate to that point at which point you could find it or an area nearby.

You can search for the name of a business or a landmark name in waze. Waze typically uses its places database and Google's POI databases for these searches. So results may vary depending on what has been added to these databases in your area.

I've found that the results Waze returns for popular chains is terrible (at least in the US), and you immediately want to click on the Google icon to redo the search to get better results.

For instance, I searched for "Macys" near me, and it found some starting over 20 miles away and the third one it listed was a few hundred miles away. There are a lot of Macy*s under 20 miles from where I live, so the default Waze search was pretty useless.

Just want to be clear: If the Place template has been filled out with at least the street address, does search tend to go to the Places database OVER Google? Having a discussion on a TX MapRaid UR. Thanks.

I believe it should. There have been significant places where the Google location can not be changed (like airport area places) and the search has not returned the waze place over the Google POI. In these cases, waze suggests we report the issue on this form.
