Waze reads GPS coordinates backwards

Postby LaidBackFiji » Fri Sep 27, 2013 2:05 am

The classic version of google maps allows you to select any point, right click, and select what's here? This action returns the coordinates of the point you selected in decimal degrees formatted: latitude, longitude.

Typing in "Search using coordinates" to the http://www.waze.com/support/ site reveals that waze reads coordinates formatted as: longitude, latitude.

This choice prevents me from easily searching and finding locations in waze from google maps.
Wouldn't it make sense for waze to read geographic coordinates in the same format that google provides?

Google is not the only source of GPS coordinates, so just because they do it one way is not enough of a reason. Yes, most of the general public is probably familiar with LatLon, but LonLat is very common for professional GIS systems and databases. Therefore I assume the backend of Waze is designed in LonLat.
