Seems to me this should be working. I don't understand why you are not getting a result for 2150 California Street Mountain View CA 94040.

You haven't been following this thread?

I'm not seeing this as a transfer problem. Waze just isn't returning a reasonable search result for "2150 California Street Mountain View CA 94040" which seems odd to me.

So it still doesn't work when waze provides an exact match? Don't know why that would be either, but I'm not a Tasker user.

I don't think its a map editing problem as waze should default to the Google address results where they exist. Of course a Google result does exist for 2150 California Street Mountain View CA 94040, so its very odd that waze isn't giving you that result.

Waze staff does tell me that they have found some inconsistent results from the Google API when searching for 2150 California Street Mountain View CA 94040. They are looking into the matter.

Cannot search for an exact address

Postby goldant » Tue Dec 03, 2013 5:31 am

So when I type in an address, lets say 2150 California Street Mountain View CA 94040... the result does not appear in the list.

Should this be working?

My overall goal is this, I have two locations that I go between, and I would like to pass an exact address into Waze from tasker so that the app auto navigates, however for this address and the other it does not display 2150 as a result. All I get back is:
585 California Street
Mountain View Library
Light Rail - Mountain View
And then several results in cities far away.

The other issue I've run into, is that sometimes Waze will auto navigate to an exact address (what I want), and other times, the address will match Waze's exactly, down to the spelling and comas. I'll also try many other combinations, but no matter what I try I cannot get waze to actually begin navigating to the address automatically. I have tried using the api listed below where he says to enable navigation with &navigation=yes. This of course works for his example, and others in my area, just not the addresses I'd like.

I've been googling around for the past hour and found nothing, any help would be greatly appreciated. I get that Waze doesn't need to support tasker, but I should still be able to enter the address manually and get the result to pull up via search shouldn't I

Thanks for your help!

The other address is 2071 Stierlin Court Mountain View CA 94043.
This address is in the search results as an exact match, but Waze will not begin autonavigating. Ideally I just want waze to start in my pocket without me needing to pull out my phone.

I'll try the latitude and longitude, that sounds like it should work. Just seems strange that the results for these addresses don't work.

Could this somehow be a map editing problem?

That is great, just to be open, 2150 isn't the exact number I'm using, but it also has a problem as well as many others on this street. If you guys need the exact address pm me, but I think it is just a general problem with that road though. I've pm'd you the exact addresses CBenson.

If it helps waze defaults to the waze search results for both California Street and Stierlin Court.

Just curious, do you know if they ever found out what the problem is?

There used to be an option in settings to learn your routes (i.e. destinations). This would make it so that when you leave at the same time from location A and go to location B, Waze learns that and will automatically prompt you to see if you're going to location B if you're leaving from location A at that same time period. That seems to be what you're looking for. However, I can't seem to find the option in settings anymore.

As far as using Tasker, I tried it, but what happens if you use the coordinates instead of the address?
