Costa Rica navigation problem

I am repeatedly having a problem that Waze tells me to navigate a longer slower route (tested and proven). Hwy 27 (from Hwy 34 to San Jose) is the fastest route. I have measured it against the route that Waze suggests repeatedly. And yet Waze still chooses another route every time. Hwy 27 is a toll road, and it's almost as if Waze is trying to route me around the toll road. But here in Costa Rica the waze app doesn't have the option to avoid toll roads. Very frustrating to not be able to estimate arrival time accurately (since it's suggesting the wrong route) or know if there is an accident or something that is actually slowing arrival time. Suggestions?

Could you possibly post a link to a live map route that uses the longer slower route? You can click points on the live map to set the origin and destination. After you get the route you can click share routes and post the URL.

Esta buena la observación Juankx, sin embargo creo que alguien mas debería hacer pruebas antes de solicitar la opción; yo no puedo ya que aqui en PZ no hay peajes :lol: :lol: y no tengo la opcion de peajes activada; sin embargo recuerdo que hace mucho tiempo lo probe y funciono...

You have to check on your configurations, there is an option which indicates to the routing engine to avoid toll roads, you might start from there, cause I have always drive to the south and to Guanacaste and Waze always gives the best route.

Hola a todos, la opcion de evitar los peajes SI esta activa para Costa Rica, por ejemplo si usted está en San Jose y quiere ir a Alajuela centro al darle IR, va a salir un cuadrito con el ETA y la distancia, etc. A la derecha dentro del cuadro dibuja una calle con unas monedas, lo que significa que la vía es de peaje. Por lo cual si el usuario no desea la vía de peaje, puede hacerle click donde dice RUTAS y allí generalmente la segunda opción será sin peaje, esto se verifica en la esquina derecha de las rutas propuestas, donde indica si es de PEAJE o no.

Hello bjincosta, I'm from Costa Rica.

Could you be more specific about your origin point in "Ruta 34 / Costanera" and your destination point in San José?

"Ruta 27 / San José - Caldera" is a commonly suggested route from the Pacific Coast to San José, what other route is suggesting Waze?.

Once you have selected your destination point, you could ask Waze to look for alternative routes. Is "Ruta 27 / San José - Caldera" one of them?

Ese fue el problema Cuadra, que la opción se habilitó en otro país y cuando vienen a CR no la pueden cambiar. En ambos casos pusieron la opción de evitar peajes, luego acá no pueden cambiarlo y no les enruta por los peajes.

Las pruebas para confirmar que funciona bien hay que hacerlas detenidamente para ver si no hay problemas. Lo que hice fue probar con destinos para los que normalmente se sugieren vías con peaje... Según pude ver, si recomienda rutas que evitan esos segmentos marcados con la opción toll.

Espero sea de utilidad.
En algunos países, en la configuración tienen la opción de "evitar peajes". Dicha opción hay que solicitarla. En este momento, por ejemplo, Argentina esta en pleno proceso, depurando vías marcadas erróneamente con "toll "
En mi país ya mapeamos el 100% de los peajes y estamos a la espera.
