It doesn't physically exist but felt like a better approximate solution rather than starting to map lots more of the one-way parking lanes.
I do this sometimes too, usually on small car parks that only have 2 lanes (one up, one down).

Usually a few minutes, but there's a bit of a backlog at the moment. You can expect the list to be updated at least daily though, automatically. Maybe twice.

It's kinda random and spread out, but I'll try to add the last update date to the pages ("soon").

Data is direct from editor, so no need to wait for tile update. There's a small chance that a bug in my code is preventing it from working properly. I shall investigate...

Reminders:
  • Unnamed car parks (including [P]) should be either named properly or removed - don't just delete them because you can't be bothered to look them up.
  • Parking Roads should be kept or added for all places where drivers can park, even if the parking place is not to be mapped.

Oopsie! That what happens when I muck about with the code late at night (early in the morning).

Should be all fixed now...

Yes, as Ian says, only draw the area place to cover the building, with parking roads for the car park.

See wiki for full guidelines: https://wiki.waze.com/wiki/United_Kingdom/Places

As PhantomFlanFlinger writes (cos I was too slow to reply), some of the internal parking roads should be mapped, but only the minimum required to get in and out. For larger car parks, this often means marking out the periphery, though it does vary depending on the shape and layout.

The main focus of this thread is about car park places rather than the roads.

Is this a regional thing?

Guidance for my area is that it should only be an area place if it is unique and large enough to be useful as a visual navigation aid, or hospital, government, school, park, etc... basically "high value" targets. If we are to map supermarkets, at what point (size business) do we stop?
My feeling is if it is a commercial business, other than a large area place covering a shopping center, mapping it as an area is effectively free advertising.
It's regional: UK supermarkets are often very large (~100m), square and highly visible such that they become landmarks in their own right. I don't feel that 'free advertising' is an issue, as they are already big household names and a little blob on a map isn't going have much impact.

Also, supermarkets are very often visited by users, and it's useful to see where you've parked in relation to the large building. In the testing I've done, this seems to work quite well.
