Thanks for the update.

I've seen this in several places.

Should there be a set speed limit of 30 mph or no limit at all?

I believe this is an advisory limit only, if it hasn't got a red circle around it then it is not a speed limit. See the guidelines in the first post about advisory limits.

If you see this sort of sign then you need to check what the speed limit is in that area, don't assume 30mph, look back for the previous sign, but in this case (assuming streetview is up to date) I believe it should be 30mph.

Am I to assume that until an official announcement is made we are to follow the guidance in the original post. Wouldn't want to litter the map with hundreds on 5m segments :o

After all, shouldn't the Wazer be looking out that big window thing for the big round things with red borders

Valid maybe, but I'm assuming this is not an adopted highway otherwise the local authority have to be involved. If private land then the speed limit can be anything random.

Well I've caused havoc around the 0.7% of the UK that I can edit and set all A-Roads with their (hopefully correct) speed limits.

If the CAs get desperate enough to need an area reviewing then I'm happy to jump in where required

Your comments are noted; when I've finished doing Bath's 20 mph zones I'll start reviewing Norwich.

I have two related questions I can't see addressed anywhere in this thread.
1) What actually defines when a segment is classified as Verified. Is it a relationship between; road type /Speed limit and editors level?
2) When I find unverified segments but can establish the correct limit, can I then verify even if the original editor was a higher level.
Thanks - Martyn

We have verified speed limits on more than 95% of motorways now! :)

Is there any way of zooming in on the heat map (and in particular for Kent ;) ) as I'd quite like to know which roads in my area need attention?

Many thanks,
Ian

Well the Android version downloads okay - as long as you enable third party app's to install - only time will tell if it is successful on drives. I look forward to using it on the move.
