The problem is that you will find a multitude of examples of bounding boxes that overlap or completely cover each other that could lead to misnamings

I use OSGB36 to ETRS89 to recalculate the grid reference before converting to lat/long. It's fairly accurate and doesn't require the Hempert (sp?) transformation and conversions to cartesian
