Looks more like some of the page elements have been renamed, preventing the script from finding them - I'll get an update out ASAP...

OS OpenData FullHeight is now at 0.9 to make it compatible with the new OS site design. No changes required to WMEOD, which remains at 1.35.

Expanding the scope of the script ever so slightly, and following a request from Superfraggle, 1.36 now includes a link and auto-tracking function for the Canary Islands government mapping site... As part of this update, the script now also automatically hides those parts of the UI which aren't applicable to the part of the world being viewed in WME.

As with the OS mapping site, the Canaries site also requires a helper script to enable the passing of location/zoom parameters.

It depends on which bit of OpenData you're looking at...

The OS has stated there are no deliberate errors in the streetname data, so anything amiss there is either a genuine error during data entry (I've found a handful of typos) or data that's been modified in the real world and hasn't yet made it into the most recent half-yearly update.

The locations given in the gazetteer data have been artificially fixed to a 1km grid, which means that the locality name at the top of the drop-down list in WMEOD isn't necessarily the one that's closest to the selected segment in reality, but neither should it be too far away. As with the streetname data, there will also be genuine errors, but other than the restricted accuracy of the locations there aren't any deliberate errors.

So yes, sometimes the OS data is wrong, but I've yet to be given any reason to think it's wrong to any great extent. If you've got any examples of locations that appear to be completely wrong, please post them here - it might indicate a bug in the script or the way I've processed the raw data from the OS...

Hi everyone,

Following a recent server reconfiguration at my hosting company, something has gone a bit Pete Tong with my SSL certificate with the result that WMEOD is now unable to access the street name or gazetteer data from my server. I've raised a support ticket to get this fixed, so hopefully normal service will be resumed soon...

Sorry for the inconvenience :(

1.37 supports the new-style WME URLs, sets the correct zoom parameter in the Livemap link, and reduces the script startup time...

1.39 uses the November 2013 streetname data, and the June 2013 gazetteer data...

Bit of an odd one this, took a while before I figured out how to reliably replicate it...

First off, and a bit surprisingly given all the hassles Chrome has given me previously with weird script behaviour, this problem is not Chrome-specific...

Secondly, although performing a streetname lookup changes the script UI in a way which makes it more likely to trigger the problem, the problem can occur with no lookup having been performed.

What's happening is that, if the bottom edge of the WMEOD window is off the bottom edge of the WME viewport when the Send button is clicked, the WME viewport redraw initiated by the send operation causes the view to be shifted vertically by however many pixels are required to bring the bottom edge of WMEOD back into view.

Since the WMEOD window gets taller whenever a streetname lookup is performed, this makes the problem more readily apparent following a lookup, but it can also be forced to occur by manually dragging the window down until it falls off the bottom of the screen even in its smallest state.

What I've also observed is that, if you then drag the WMEOD window back up the screen, or use the minimise icon to collapse it into its titlebar, the WME view automatically realigns itself.

Now I know how to consistently replicate the problem, a fix should hopefully be not too far away...
