Thanks robin, that's good to know. Where does the WazeID come from?robin1979 wrote:If you deliver a file with all towns to Waze, Waze can import them, and lock the addition of new cities. We've done that in the Netherlands, and it pretty much solves the problem of random city names and smudges.

Search results for the LiveMap come from Bing, I believe, so the suffix doesn't make a difference here either.hailstorm wrote:When I do a search on world.waze.com/livemap it comes up with the county. For example type is Cheltenham. The search suggestions it comes up with is Cheltenham, Glos, United Kingdom. Where does the search get Glos from then? Does it use this suffix for that?

I don't think we want to lock our cities just yet, as there are a lot villages around.

Given the general support for this, I propose the following new wording for the Wiki (at the bottom):

Possibly, though I feel that A-roads that form part of the inner-town road network (with names like High St) should perhaps retain the city name.dknight212 wrote:Why not just say, major A-roads may (should?) be set to have No City.Major A-roads that pass through or go around a town may be set to have No City.
However, I'm really not sure it makes any difference either way, so maybe it's not worth worrying about? It might be best to remove this line altogether...

The ayes have it.
If you spot a large town that needs renaming, I'll start a new thread for those requests.

Hey Tim, I agree with you - for a change
I already removed it from my AM area a while ago.
