This is based on actual data from Waze HQ, and should be mostly accurate. If you spot any errors, please let me know.

It behaves "globally". Whether you're active, or gone.
I don't think so, some of my AM areas are gone.
But then, if you are a CM I suspect that is a moot point.. :|

The map above has been updated to exclude AMs that have been recently removed.
There seems to be a discrepancy with WME. For example, in Leicester WME is still showing an AM. https://world.waze.com/editor/?zoom=0&l ... 1337937067

Sweet. Simple and exact. I wish that Waze AM Layers would support complexer than the quadrilateral polygons already this century...

Tim, would you mind sharing the know-how?

Not if you need additional AM areas to cover borderline regions. CMs were often known to be unable to edit roads in many villages at the country borders  And Waze was never willing to let us fix the borderlines.

But I'm nowhere a CM. Nevertheless, I still do have AM areas where I've not been active for at least a year long.

Waze HQ automatically remove AM areas if an editor hasn't edited for 90 days. After that you will have to re-apply for any AM area(s).

What type of edit was it - can you provide a permalink?

Changing turn restrictions does not update the "last edited" data on segments. It's possible that, if that was the type of edit you made, it won't be "visible" to Waze.

We don't know the precise mechanics Waze use to determine their 90-days figure - or, indeed, if it's 90 days or 3 months. We just know that it's a process that seems to run fairly regularly, based on names disappearing from the AM layer.

Just a quick question, when are area managers "demoted" from being AM?
I've been inactive for a couple of months, I was area manager of Milton Keynes, and Cambridge in the UK and Gran Canaria in Spain, and now it seems I'm not area manager of none of these regions???

thanks
