Isle of Wight problem?

Hi guys,

UR here https://world.waze.com/beta_editor/?zoo ... TTTTTTFTTT

I've looked at routing from mainland to IoW but no route comes up at all. Doubtful it's a server issue, normal routes are fine.

Can someone (CM/local AM) look into this for me please and update the guy in the beta editor?

I saw this ur but didn't have time to post. I couldn't see any roads/routes onto the island. A quick search of the forum showed me a previous thread arguing not to have any mapped. So that could be why

Since then, the Channel crossings have been mapped, so...

It's possible that the lookups for IoW postcodes really are bogus, and is placing the destinations in France. I tried a couple random postcodes for Newport in the Livemap, and they did work but only if I was on the mainland. Might be worth asking user for specific examples.

Yes, there are no ferry routes on the map to allow navigation. Users are expected to know whether they want to go Portsmouth-Fishbourne, Southampton-Cowes or Lymington-Yarmouth.

Should Waze route to the nearest road to the GPS co-ordinates to which the search translates even if they're some miles away? The nearest roads to PO33 and so on postcodes are along the south coast between Portsmouth and Lymington, approximately. I don't understand why it would route to France, as the French roads closest to the Island are a lot further away than the mainland.

I don't have access to the Beta editor, so can't add a comment.
