SPECS & Gantry clean up M1 J11 - J13

Just tell the new boy to keep quiet if I'm out of line here. :D

Travelled up to Milton Keynes last night from Luton for the first time since I joined Waze.

The cameras seen to be a bit out of control with the number approved. I think it may be a legacy from the SPECS cameras when the roadworks were still going on as there's a few set to 50. Mix that with the current gantry cameras and there's lots of mis-information.

Unfortunately it's not a route I do often, so I didn't manage to check out which cameras were correct. Most are locked way above my level so I couldn't do anything with them anyway.
Maybe a clean sweep of the existing cameras and start afresh with regular users of that route??

I've removed all the SPECS cams and hopefully all the REAL Variable speed cameras are there and set to 70mph.

If you spot any that are wrong post to this thread and I'll fix it.

If the SPECS cameras have now gone, then I'd certainly be inclined to prune all the cameras marked as 50mph, but I'd tend to leave any 70mph ones alone pending further recon drives to double check whether those positions match up to reality - as I've found with my similar attempts to bring some sort of order to the northern half of the M25, placing a camera where one doesn't already exist is a pain in the arse compared to deleting one that's already present, so a wholescale nuke from orbit might not go down too well with whoever then is left with the job of replacing all of the ones that were correct in the first place... If a recon drive then shows some cameras being incorrectly placed, it's easy enough to drop a UR on the spot as a reminder to remove specifically those cameras later on.
