Selecting community leaders

Post by jonypony
Hi everyone,

We only got less than 10 applications for community leaders, which means that unless you guys let us know who wants to be a community-leader or expert, or would like to nominate someone for these roles - I won't be able to actively help this community to grow and get the attention it deserves.

So please fill in yourselves or other people whom you think deserve to be coordinators &/or experts.
Coordinators form

*Update*: The form is now accessible to everyone

Hi there,

There are those who will just use the app and there are those who will be willing to edit and updated the maps. That will always be the case.

Perth for example needs some level 5 overview. I see map wars going on North of the River and some frankly crazy work going on. Suburbs being ring fenced by runways saying keep out! :o

South of the River we are trying to actively map the huge areas of as yet unmapped areas.
The biggest issue is out of date aerial photos. I've been using some of the local council web sites to cross reference roads.

Cheers
A

"Map Wars". Interestingly the wazer that ringfenced there area with warnings had the largest collection of map error reports in the area. Seems all clean now and the fence has disappeared.

Apparently I need permission to access that form.

As a recently returned (and inexperienced) editor I'm not going to nominate for any positions at present.

If I was trying to get people involved in building the community, I'd start by taking a few popular issues and asking for community input to work on those problems, and go from there. Get people focused on the actual issues which needs community effort to get moving, and the community will build itself. Looking at the forums, those issues might be incorrect suburbs, split roads and maybe a large mapping project in each active state.

Also, I think we should organise a social event in each capital city to meet and socialise with each other. If others in Brisbane indicate what sort of event they want (I'd suggest a bbq or weekend breakfast/ lunch), I'm happy to organise a time and place, and booking if required.

Sadly, the community was less enthusiastic about this, so in the meanwhile - it was postponed.
We'll have to wait for the Aussie community to grow some more.

I'm happy being an editing expert. My main focus is on editing (like most others) and I am more than happy to help others out with editing related issues.

I would like to nominate 2 users. This will give them access to some interesting information sources which is very usefull for the Australian community.

ps_au

It's clear to me, he should be the Australian Coordinator.

lakeyboy

With his editing activity and experience, I would like to see him as editing expert.

Does anyone have objections with that?
