Locking standard

Post by orbitc
In Northeast Region (Delaware, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania) standard for locking roads based on segment type. This means that any road of a certain segment type should be locked at least to the rank in the chart below. Roads may be locked higher if necessary for special situations, but should not be locked lower.

A great time to implement these locks is while performing the FC Upgrade of an area. Lock the roads based on type after they've been set to FC standards.

I'm opposed to having a different standard for urban and rural for simplicity's sake. Orbit has said that his was done in NY for the difficult problems in NYC. I don't think we need it in PA.

Thanks PesachZ! I deleted the old one and replaced it with the new NE sub-page on the NJ wiki.

Quick question, should the text include a link to [#FC Upgrade] on the same page (like you had it originally) being that all NE states are going to have an FC section?

On the NJ page I had it link to the FC upgrade material in the To-Do list. Having the link was nice, but not necessary. Thanks again.

True true. (Although I am now getting the error "user changed his name to DoNotUpdate" on the wiki. Sigh. NanoRep Time.)

That's correct. The issue is that there is no great FC map for all states and that we might have to use our judgement. We can always look at the GPS Tracks (or get some idea from Auto lock).

I can add this whole table into the northeast wiki page as a trascludable section which can then be referenced on all the state pages like a template. That way it only needs to be maintained in one location. Is that something you'd be interested in?
