Until they fix the UI so it works with more than one segment selected to verify the SL, they are hurting productivity. Therefore I vote to roll back

I'm not sure I understand you. Downlocking a segment does not verify the SL. Perhaps you are being confused by the fact that the verify check box is hidden when more than one than one segment is selected.roarlions1 wrote:If we roll everything back will that eliminate the verified SL on the roads that have been downlocked from 2 to 1 (e.g. PS) via the new locking standard? When I update PS I have to click verified but the check box disappears when I downlock.
But regardless any SL which was manually verified by an editor will not be removed if the unverified speeds are removed

Frankly, I think no speed limit information is far less evil than bad speed limit info. It's also easier, as someone mentioned, to track progress of whether it has been entered/checked if the "TODO" areas still have no speed limit.
Every other navigation app I've ever used worked the same way while it was building its speed limits database, including Google Maps itself. There's going to be some serious bad PR if someone gets stopped because our speed limit guess was wrong. And if it makes the press...

If we roll everything back will that eliminate the verified SL on the roads that have been downlocked from 2 to 1 (e.g. PS) via the new locking standard? When I update PS I have to click verified but the check box disappears when I downlock.

If we can rollback predicted SLs, will that create a problem with ones that have been applied in the meantime? I'm thinking the reverse situation of those reports of confirmed SLs that were removed/replaced by the prediction algorithm because they were applied while predictions were processing.
Even if the UI worked better with more than 1 segment selected, the predicted SLs are not useful.
I cannot depend on them -- I have to check the values anyway.
The various scripts for speed limits are much more efficient than the checkbox UI anyway.

If they do offer to remove all unverified speed limits, then please ask them to take one simple step to avoid the race condition issue we saw with the process that replaced recently-entered SLs with unverified predicted SLs -- check for unverified SL just before blanking it.
