Mapping rest areas

Post by Kayos_On_The_Road
Hi,

Do we have Canada specific guidance for the mapping of rest areas? There is the US wiki here, but does this also apply to Canada? There is an editor that has added some along BC highways but I'm not sure if they should be approved and added, or taken off.

We have just bought a new Nissan with on board navigation and one of the navigation categories is rest areas, so I personally think it makes sense to have them there. I would also suggest to staff to add it as a place area type.

Thoughts?

I say add them.
I think they work well for planing way-points into a long trip.
I've added a few in Ontario.
As far as I know if there is no Canadian amendment on the Canada page then we follow US rules.

No reason to not map them. Looks like the Rest Area wiki had a lot of updates last fall following some discussion I had about a travel plaza in New York.
