We have some answers from waze for our most pressing questions. Waze would like to get our feedback on their responses.
1. Canadian road shields:
Sent an example spreadsheet you guys can work on

2. Water bodies - "Building" the coastline.
Not planned in the near future, not top priority

3. Friends around you still visible if out of country
Works as planned, relevant to the social aspect of the app

4. Opting out of toll roads does not automatically create a new route
Not top priority at the moment

5. Can blocked users still comment on URs etc?
They cannot.

6. TBRs - add seasonal closures etc.
Not planned at the moment due to small numbers of those around the world

7. Places - approve/reject specific features, not just the whole place
Planned

8. Let high level editors credit low level editors and give them points
We started brainstorming on ways to do this

9. Counties (another hierarchy)
Ongoing effort

10. Localize to US English
Done, will be deployed within a few days

11. Plans to be more "tolerant" on bad networks, sending info when connection is restored erc.?
Not planned at the moment

12. Another address layer
Not planned at the moment

13. Separate dirt road types (4X4 etc.)
Planned

Maybe a signal booster if there's even a hint of cellular coverage in the area.

Is it possible for the road name also to be displayed?

10. What's the localizing URL? https://www.waze.com/en-US/editor/

12. Waze asked earlier for some examples regarding this. Regarding Unit, Appt and Suite #s. We were also told they have this problem in Russia; U.S. editors that were present also echoed the importance of having an additional level to allow us to be more independent. We currently rely on google map markers for that additional level of precsision.
Not only do we have multiple examples of highways with the same numbers in different provinces, many highways change their name when going through towns and cities and the highway number is an Alt Name.

They do work. I have this one with an upgraded outdoor antenna, https://www.wilsonamplifiers.com/wilson ... it-460107/

I live in southern Ontario and worked in Cochrane this summer traveling Hwy 11, 655, and 144, and never lost signal.

Agreed, I really don't see how we could make road shields work if alt-names can't be used.
