No real cons I can think of, but that is outside our control; and still doesn't really help for intermediate stops.

Also note that this would affect the "X minutes off route" too, because circling around the block presumably adds a bit of time as well.

Lastly, friendly reminder that is more about whether to explicitly _not_ adopt global Waze guidelines.

Well it wouldn't solve the fact that your route, when initialized at the origin, isn't the best one already.

Specifically, the issue at hand isn't that the direction that Waze points to isn't the direction you're pointing to, but that you can easily and safely turn around within the station, which the old case omits.

MODS: Can you post a poll?

Question: Should we follow the global best practices regarding adding u-turns to ends of small parking lot?

Option 1: Yes, we should start adding these u-turns as warranted. Wiki does not need to be updated.

Option 2: We will not follow global guidance and update the wiki to include the following:
Small parking lots
In Canada, we do not follow all best practices for a small parking lot. Do not enable u-turns at the ends of the parking lot road unless otherwise signed. The community decided it was best that Waze offers unambiguous guidance, rather than the absolute fastest route.
(Wording can be revised after the poll.)

Other than an ("I'm going the other way") button, perhaps a good solution would be for Waze to not assume it knows what direction you are going.

Whenever you start off or reach a stop point, Waze should just assume that you can proceed in any direction. What would be the drawbacks of that?

Hi editor from across the border.
I posted this forum about the topic for gas stations here before learning of this one.

Reading through your thread, my experience is it can save almost two miles on the routing at some gas stations. The example in my post is in the suburbs but similar ones that are out in rural areas can be a lot further.
