BGS City names with abbreviated "Saint" St.

Post by Jarve1024
Amongst my limited travels, in around Ski Martock and Windsor Nova Scotia, I was instructed to follow signs to Street Croix... The text in Waze and on the BGS is "St. Croix".

I imagine this issue has come up before, but I can't figure out how it would need to be fixed. Any help is appreciated.

Honestly, I'll be done editing when Waze knows the fastest way between all my destinations

Yes, it is the same. St. Albert Trail works fine in the Edmonton area (just don't forget the ".").

But in the rest of the country, we use normal punctuation for abbreviations (i.e. a period), so we don't spell it out. :D

And that leads to problems, like the one that prompted this post. ;)
I'd sure like to have seen a permalink - if "St." isn't being pronounced correctly, we need to escalate that.

OTOH, if the issue is that someone has put "St Croix" in, then that is a map error to resolve.

Normally, Street is "St" and Saint is "St." Note the period.

but Saint is not listed here for Canada: https://wazeopedia.waze.com/wiki/Canada ... reviations
But is here for the USA: https://wazeopedia.waze.com/wiki/USA/Ab ... d_acronyms
I would imagine it's the same.

But if it's not working correctly, point it out to your Area/Provincial/Country Managers. There have been known to be glitches, that can be repaired.

Standard operating procedure in Quebec is to ALWAYS spell it out for roads. The dash will interfere with correct pronunciation.
