Route Editing?

Postby rttripp91 » Mon Nov 09, 2015 12:24 am

Good evening everyone!

Since I have been using Waze, I have noticed that sometimes it doesn't seem to want to take the smaller rural routes when navigating. (I've made sure that there are no roads avoided under my options menu as well)
I personally know of several routes that are much shorter than the ones Waze and other GPS programs suggest. Some that even reduce the drive time by an entire 10 - 15 minutes!

I was curious to know if there was a way to add your own routes to the system? Like, is there any way that I can edit this in the Waze Map Editor? Is this something that I would need to take up with a Waze mod or admin?

Thanks!! =)

What state ? There is not a way to add a route. But something cold be broken that is not allowing your route you want. Can you give us a starting point and ending point and someone can look into this.

Would you need all of the specific road names involved or just the starting/ending city names?

As much info as possible would help. We can test routes with a start and stop point. But if you have a route that you think is best describe it also and someone will look into it.

Not a problem! When I'm out tomorrow, I'll be sure to take note of as many specifics as possible, including times/distance. I personally can't remember every road name/number off the top of my head. I'll be sure to include the road name/"local name" (as this is sometimes far different than the official name given)/number/city, county as well.
Would you need anything else along the route, such as businesses, landmarks, etc?
Thank you for following up so quickly, though!

Starting point and ending point is a good start. No need for landmarks. Just basically how the route waze gave you differs from what you want. Can't promise a fix. But we can look at it for sure. Which state you in? We have 4 states in this region.
