Norfolk, I-564 E, HOV handling

Post by Alpha_VA
Hi!

Yesterday, I drove from Norfolk NEX to Chesapeake.

On the following segment, Waze guided me into the HOV lane which was open for all traffic at this time.

https://www.waze.com/de/editor/?env=usa ... 4,61608032

Was this routing on a dynamic HOV correct, with my editor level I cannot verify whether there are HOV time attributes in the segment "I-64 E HOV Ln, Norfolk, Virginia"?

Yes, it is correct routing. We have set it up so that when the HOV is open to all traffic it will be routable.

As Stephen said yes. Basically if it is legal we try to allow it in routing. Some exceptions are the turn from main road if there is an associated AGC. Reason for this is problems that will be generated using the algorithm for bad routes.
HOV is not routed since Waze does not support. But Virginia has it set up so that if you do meet the HOV requirements then you drive on it and it should either automatically reroute for that trip or it will take you to select ROUTES and then you will be routed using HOV for the trip
