What is happening on this one - I'm headed out tomorrow and would really like to get my dad using Waze - so far, all it does for him is tell him "No route". Not much of a first impression.

What's the deal?

That is odd. I can't get a route from Philly to Williamsburg either. But as you say I can get a route from Williamsburg to Philly. I can also get routes from Philly to Richmond, VA and from Baltimore to Williamsburg.

No Route Found to Williamsburg, VA

Postby gdgtguru » Wed Jun 11, 2014 7:07 pm

I am having trouble with Waze finding a route to anywhere in Williamsburg, VA. I am in PA, but not sure if it matters where you are when trying to get a route there. I have tried numerous locations in Williamsburg including just the city itself with no address. Anyone else having this issue?

Update:
It appears to be an issue specific to the from address residing in Southeast PA. For example, here is one of the routes I tried from both the app and livemap:

From Philadelphia, PA
To Williamsburg, VA
No Route Found

But if I reverse it, the route is found without issue.

Not that it helped you two months ago, but I was able to obtain a route on my phone from Bensalem to Williamsburg, VA. Did you have any success?

We found the culprit and are working on a solution. It seems to be an issue with the long route server and the maximum distance definition. We are working on a solution.

Thanks,

Noam

A route from West Chester, PA to just outside Richmond VA works -- but it the result is returned very slowly:
https://www.waze.com/livemap?lon=-77.19 ... =-77.19131

On the other hand, a route from the same starting point West to Canton Ohio is much longer, but returns a result much more quickly:
https://www.waze.com/livemap?lon=-75.60 ... =-81.37327

What is fundamentally different about the two routes? The density of freeways and highways to choose from in the Wilmington/Baltimore/DC/Richmond corridor?
