US Hwy 82, Gainesville, TX

Can someone take a look at this area of the map and see why the route being generated isn't optimal?

https://www.waze.com/cartouche/?zoom=6& ... TTTTFTTTTT

When you're headed south on N Grand Ave and wanting to go east on US Hwy 82, the best route is to follow N Grand Ave under US Hwy 82, then make a left at the ramp and follow the ramps onto US Hwy 82 East.

The Waze routing says that from N Grand Ave, you should take the ramp to US Hwy 82 West, make a u-turn at Lawrence St, then head east on US Hwy 82.

I didn't see any turn restrictions that would prevent the better route. Is there anything else in that view that would prevent it? Or is it because the complicated set of ramps in the SW corner of Grand and 82 that makes the routing think it's easier to do a u-turn at Lawrence?

Once I went under the highway and made the left, it routed correctly through the ramps onto the highway.

That is curious indeed. After the map update cycle catches this change, which probably won't be for another week or two, let us know if the changes I made still didn't help.

Thanks Alan! I'll keep an eye on it. It will be a few weeks before I head through there again (shortcut to N I-35). Just figured I'd take a look since it appeared there was no AM in that area.

There wasn't anything particularly wrong here that I could see either. However, CBenson, I did go through and restrict all turns, then enabled the correct ones again, just as a "reset." You probably saw them during that stage. Sorry.

I also made some other minor tweaks to roads and connections here. It could have something to do with junction count, so I did a little work to reduce that.

I am curious if once you take the left onto the "ramp" (which isn't really a ramp yet, so I changed it back to street type), does it route you properly onto the highway?

My original wish-list for Papyrus (I think it's in there) is details like create date/user, update date/user for all objects: segments, landmarks, junctions, cameras, etc.

I'm getting worried that turn restrictions may not be behaving well. All the nodes around this area show all turns restricted when I view them. So there is something strange going on in the area.

So changing the turn restrictions doesn't change last edit date or last editor for the segment. I hadn't realized that. (And don't particularly like it.)

Turns are treated totally different from segments. I hate that as well.
