Routing through minor street to save 1 second transit time  Topic is solved

Segment in question Routes in Livemap

From what I was told, the routing server should stick to minor highways over local streets when routing. Instead we see routes like these: Screenshots of routes

What's the best way to increase the routing penalties for the Bobby West St segment?

Pruning out lower class roads only takes place in the middle of longer routes. On short routes, or even at the ends of longer routes, all roads are available. That road does look like it would be a quicker route, so it's no surprise it's being chosen. Really, the only way to penalize is to make it a PR, but in my area we generally don't do that unless the road is signed "private" or "no thru traffic" or something like that.

You could have people drive the “faster” way (the one you don’t want it to prefer) at a slower pace. Over time, Waze will think it’s slower and not use it. But that’s not what Waze is for. It’s here to give you the fastest route based on your level of avoidance.
