Well, Waze makes a much bigger effort to snap you to a road if you're navigating, sometimes to a fault :P

Also, as far as map editing goes, the nightly process takes your data and reprocesses it, and it's much better at snapping your route to the proper roads than the client is. Check out the Archive panel and you'll see that.

waze getting lost

Just out of curiosity what happens when waze is in navigation mode and gets "lost"? I have an iPhone 3G, with the 3.1 software running waze 1.2. Driving around my local roads sometimes waze starts jumping from one near by road to another (never the same road im on, BTW other navigation systems on my phone don't have that problem at those location). How does that hamper on the fly navigation computation?
