When TTS was first introduced we requested a phonetic field for such problems. We may get it eventually. Until then you just have to put up with it I'm afraid.

That said, I do also feel sometimes that a space is ignored. Though I can't think of any examples off the top of my head right now.

TTS Pronunciation

Postby yoyo-42 » Sun Dec 16, 2012 10:12 pm

I've searched and found the various entries about 'South', 'North', 'Saint/Street' etc. but this is different.

Several roads round here are pronounced badly incorrectly. Some of them are typical UK problems that even UK people disagree on, so that would need individual 'hints' I guess. Can that be done?

Also, there's a particular road here, 'Epney Road' and the navigation voice literally says 'turn right ontwipney road' which is totally confusing. It feels like it's ignoring the space between 'to' and 'Epney' when forming the sounds.

Is this anything that can be handled by careful road naming or would it need something to be done centrally?
